The Cows are Coming Home in 2004!
Co-hosted by Edward G. Rendell, Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Stephen R. Reed, Mayor, City of Harrisburg, Cow Parade Harrisburg 2004 will bring full-sized cows, artfully designed and painted, for exhibition in Harrisburg and vicinity from mid-March-April through early June 2004. Cow Parade Harrisburg 2004 will feature one hundred or more original creations by top regional artists turning the Capitol City of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and vicinity into an exciting sidewalk display of 'udderly' unique, and captivating bovines!

Cow Parade Harrisburg 2004 will conclude with a live auction in late June 2004 benefiting Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts and several other charities within an eight county region as designated by Sponsors.

Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts is a cultural center which opened in city-center Harrisburg on 9/9/99. This not for profit organization culminated a 20-year effort by Central Pennsylvanians to have a combined arts/science facility in Harrisburg. Whitaker Center consists of the Harsco Science Center with over 240 interactive exhibits, the 200-seat Select Medical IMAX¨ Theater and the Sunoco Performance Theater, a fully equipped 660-seat performing arts theater. Whitaker Center had over 400,000 enter its doors in 2002 including over 50,000 school group guests.
